Although the Federal Government of Nigeria receives a lot of bad rep for being irresponsible, the Federal Scholarship Board has given scholarships to a lot of students to study in Nigeria and even abroad. MTN Foundation Scholarship
The MTN Foundation Scholarship program is designed to empower talented and deserving Nigerian students by covering their tuition, book allowance, and stipends. It pays ₦200,000 to over 300 undergraduate students yearly until they graduate. This initiative focuses on high performing students in accredited Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions across the country. There are 2 categories of this scholarship.
The first one, MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) is open to only 300 level students who are in public universities studying Science & Technology related courses, in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).

Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) offers scholarships to qualified Nigerian students pursuing undergraduate degrees in recognized Nigerian universities. David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship for African Students
David Oyedepo Foundation (DOF) Scholarship Program awards full scholarships to qualified individuals who are indigenes and residents of African countries. Unlike most scholarships available to Nigerian undergraduates, the DOF scholarship is not just for students in public universities. It is for students who wish to go to school in Covenant or Landmark University, Nigeria. Two of the most prominent private universities in Nigeria.
This scholarship is open to students from any African country who have already begun admission applications to Covenant or Landmark University. It covers the academic fees of the student for a maximum of 5 years. (In accordance with the University stipulated time for the duration of the chosen course).
The scholarship does now require an exam as the qualified candidates will be interviewed by a special board.
